The company’s product range includes immersion coolers, heated and/or refrigerated baths and circulators, as well as Unistat hydraulically sealed circulators and chillers. Huber is dedicated to the continued development of innovative solutions; a fact demonstrated by its many awards. The company has been recognised as amongst the Top 100 Innovators in the prestigious and competitive German small and medium enterprises category four years running. In 2015, it was awarded the corporate seal of ‘The Best of German Mittelstand’ at the Ambassadors’ Conference and selected as a finalist in the ‘Grand Prix of Small and Medium Enterprises’; a significant achievement, as there were more than 4,000 nominees in this category.

Loosely translated as small and medium enterprises (SMEs), Mittelstand, is very important in Germany, as more than 99% of all the country’s companies are SMEs, totalling approximately 3.6 million businesses, which provide 60% of Germany’s jobs. Although Mittelstand mainly incorporates companies that have fewer than 500 employees, it also includes some larger companies that are run in the same spirit as the SMEs, with the owner taking personal responsibility for the business, employees and decisions, as well as an emphasis placed on building lasting relationships with customers, suppliers and other businesses. As many businesses in the Mittelstand are innovators and technology-driven, to be recognised as an innovator in this category is praise indeed.

Established in 1968 by Peter Huber the company employs approximately 250 people at its German headquarters. It also has a solid foundation for support and services around the world through its international subsidiaries, trading partners and distributors, including Labtex in the UK. Globally there are more than 140,000 Huber temperature control products in use in science, research and industrial applications.

Greg Smith, founder and managing director of Huddersfield-based Labtex, commented; “We have always had an excellent working relationship with Huber. Their products are the highest quality of German design and manufacturing and our team can recommend any product from their range with absolute confidence.
